Teams
A point cloud link that opens in Microsoft Teams
Project chat lives in Teams. A ViewerFX link pasted into a channel opens the full point cloud in a browser for everyone in it, with no account and nothing to install.
How it works in Teams
Paste the link into a chat or a channel. Anyone who clicks it gets the viewer in their browser, on the desktop app or on a phone. Most client opens of paid customers' links come from Teams, so this is the path the product is built around.
Nothing for the channel to set up
- No accounts and no seats for the people who open the link.
- No Teams app to install or approve. It is a plain https link.
- No SharePoint folder, no guest access, no file download.
- Works for external guests in the channel the same as for your own staff.
What opens
- The full point cloud, streaming, whatever its size.
- Distance, height, area and spot elevation, in feet or metres.
- Section cut, plan view with a scale bar, colour by elevation or classification.
- Annotations pinned to the cloud, so a question in the channel can point at a spot.
Passwords and revoking
Add a password to the link and send it in a separate message. Revoke the link when the project closes: the message in Teams keeps the text, but the link stops opening. Your original file stays private to your account.
Knowing it was opened
The file list shows how many times each link was opened. You get an email the first time someone outside your workspace opens it, and a Monday summary of opens on weeks that had any.
Your brand in the channel
Free plan links carry a small ViewerFX badge. Paid plan links carry none. Pro adds your logo and brand colour to the viewer, and Business is full white-label. Details on the pricing page.

Common questions
- Do the people in my Teams channel need a ViewerFX account?
- No. Anyone who clicks the link opens the viewer. No account, no seat, no install, and nothing to pay.
- Does the link work in Teams on a phone?
- Yes. It opens in the phone’s browser and the viewer works on phones, including measuring.
- Can I see who opened it?
- You see how many times, not who. The file list shows the open count, you get an email on the first open, and a Monday summary on weeks that had any.
- Does the link expire?
- Not on a schedule. It stays live as long as your account is in good standing, and you can revoke it at any time.
