Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data ViewerFX collects, why, and who processes it. We try to collect only what the Service needs.

What we collect

• Account data: your email, and optionally your name and company.
• Your files: the point clouds you upload and the metadata derived from them (point count, bounds, coordinate system).
• Sharing data: share links you create, optional link passwords (stored only as a salted hash), and basic view counts.
• Billing data: handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, not your card details.
• Usage and technical data: standard logs needed to operate and secure the Service, and first-party analytics: which pages are visited, the page and referrer a visitor first arrived from, and product events such as uploads and share views. Visitors are identified by a salted hash that rotates daily, never by a raw IP address.

How we use it

• To provide the Service: store and convert your files, serve your viewers, enforce plan limits.
• To run your account: emails about uploads, share activity, billing, security, and changes to our terms. These are part of the Service and continue while you have an account.
• To send product news, point cloud tips, and occasional offers. These are on by default when you create an account, every one carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can switch them off from your account page at any time.
• To feature your work in ViewerFX marketing, only for files where you have switched on the "feature this project" permission yourself. Nothing is featured by default.
• To understand how people find and use ViewerFX, so we can improve it.
• To secure the Service and prevent abuse.

Who processes your data

We use a small set of subprocessors to run ViewerFX:

• Supabase for authentication and the database.
• Cloudflare R2 for file storage and delivery.
• Vercel for application hosting and aggregate web analytics.
• Stripe for payments.
• Resend for email delivery.

We do not sell your data.

Sharing and visibility

Files are private to your account. A file becomes viewable only to people who have a share link you created, and only while that link is active. You can password protect or revoke a link at any time.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete a file it is removed from storage. If you close your account we delete your content after a reasonable period, except where we must retain records (for example, billing) by law.

Your choices

• Update your profile and email preferences in your account.
• Stop product news, tips and offers with the unsubscribe link in any such email, or from your account page. Account and billing emails continue while you have an account.
• Switch the marketing permission for any file on or off from that file's page.
• Request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting us, or delete your account yourself from the account page.
