# ViewerFX

> ViewerFX (https://viewerfx.io) hosts point clouds and laser scans and shares them as browser links. Upload a LAS, LAZ, E57, PLY, PCD, PTS or PTX file; anyone with the link can view and measure it in a web browser with no install and no account.

- ViewerFX hosts point clouds and laser scans and shares them as browser links.
- Upload a file, send the link. The person who opens it needs no software and no account.
- Made by GeoGear Supply, a land surveyor’s company in Michigan, USA.

## Files

- Accepted formats: LAS, LAZ, E57, PLY, PCD, PTS, PTX.
- LAS and LAZ: every version and point format.
- No per-file size cap. The only limit is the plan’s total storage.
- Largest file converted so far: a 19.8 GB LAS with 530 million points, on 2026-10-29.
- Every file is converted to COPC, a streaming LAZ, on a ViewerFX conversion server. Nothing is converted in the browser.
- Conversion runs unattended. An email arrives when the file is ready, and one if it fails.
- Multi-gigabyte files typically convert in 15 to 40 minutes.
- Files are stored on Cloudflare R2. Originals stay private to the account.
- Owners and admins can download the converted file as LAZ at any time.
- Deleting a file removes it from storage.
- Not included: registration or modeling. Upload finished data.

## Viewer

- Links open in any modern browser, on desktop and on phones. Nothing to install.
- Links open from Microsoft Teams, email and text messages.
- Viewers need no account and never pay. Unlimited viewers on every plan.
- The viewer streams only the points on screen, so a 20 GB file opens as fast as a small one.
- The coordinate system declared in the file is read on conversion and shown in the viewer.
- Measurements show in metres, feet, or feet and inches, whatever the file is stored in.
- Tool: Streaming viewer for any size cloud.
- Tool: Distance, horizontal, height and area measuring.
- Tool: Spot elevations, in feet or metres.
- Tool: Section cuts and clip box.
- Tool: Plan view with scale bar and image export.
- Tool: Interior mode: dollhouse view and walk-through.
- Tool: Colour by elevation, RGB, intensity or class.
- Tool: Annotations pinned to the cloud.
- Tool: Password protected links, revoke anytime.
- Tool: Unlimited free viewers, no accounts.
- Tool: Screenshots and optimized LAZ download.
- Tool: Workspace with team seats.
- Interior scans are detected and open as a dollhouse with the ceiling cut away, a storey picker and walk mode.
- Every plan has every viewer tool.

## Links

- One share link per file. Links are unguessable tokens.
- Links never expire on a schedule. They stay live as long as the account is in good standing.
- Any link can carry a password.
- Any link can be revoked at any time.
- The file list shows how many times each link has been opened.
- Email the first time a link is opened, and a Monday summary of opens on weeks that had any.
- Free plan links carry a small ViewerFX badge. Paid plan links carry none.
- Pro adds your logo and brand colour to shared viewers. Business is full white-label.
- Other websites cannot frame a share link. Embedding the viewer in your own website is in development, not available yet. The waitlist is at https://viewerfx.io/embed.

## Plans and prices (USD)

- Free: $0, no card. 2 GB storage, 2 stored files.
- Starter: $29 a month or $290 a year. 50 GB storage, 10 stored files.
- Pro: $79 a month or $790 a year. 250 GB storage, 40 stored files, your logo on shared viewers.
- Business: $199 a month or $1,990 a year. 1 TB storage, 200 stored files, full white-label.
- Every plan has the same viewer tools and unlimited free viewers.
- Paid plans start with a 7-day free trial. Card required, one trial per account.
- Yearly billing is 10 times the monthly price, so two months free.
- Billing through Stripe, monthly or yearly. Switch plans or cancel anytime.
- No per-viewer, per-project or per-file fees.
- Nothing stored is ever deleted automatically. Over the limit, uploads block until a file is deleted or the plan is upgraded.

## Seats

- Every subscription includes one admin seat.
- Extra admin seats cost the plan price each.
- User seats cost $25 a month each, or $250 a year on yearly plans.
- Admins manage members and every file. Users upload, share and annotate.
- People who open links never need a seat.

## Free viewer

- https://viewerfx.io/viewer opens a LAS or LAZ on your own machine, up to about 500 MB, with nothing uploaded and no account.
- E57 and the other formats need an account upload.
